This video is a collaborative work by myself and the visual FX artist, Matthew Foglia. The bulk of the material is from found footage, specifically the experimental work of Polish video artists and filmmakers from the 1940's.

The themes I address in this video have to do with the exploration of Self and the experience of solitude, its challenges and rewards. The psychedelic diffusion of boundaries between real, surreal, and virtual is symbolic of the sometimes convoluted, sometimes clairvoyant process of healing and growth that each individual experiences in their life, whether through active searching or passive transformation. My use of found footage from the early pioneers of a new technology has relevance to our current global situation with Covid-19 as we explore new ways of conducting public and private life and the rapid adaptation of new technology for our survival and prosperity.

“Lone Beholder” is the second track off the four-song Fireberg EP, Undoing the Future, which was released on Eyedyllic Music. The EP features three original songs and one remix by the South African artist, FKA Mash.
